
There are currently 3 types of coaching accreditations available:
- Club Coach
- Level 1 Coach
- Level 2 Coach
Obtaining a Club Coach/Level 1 Motorcycle Sport Coaching Accreditation
The following are the pre-requisites* that must be achieved before a candidate may apply for “Club Coach” or “Level 1” accreditation:
- Must be at least 17 years of age (18 at the time of applying)
- Be medically and physically capable of undertaking the work required as a coach (subjective assessment by Practical Seminar presenter)
- Provide proven association and/or membership with an MA affiliated club
- Provide proven understanding of motorcycle riding skills and techniques in motorcycle sport and/or provide proof of personal riding competency.
Online training requisites:
- Provide proof of the successful completion of the Motorcycling Australia Learning Centre (MALC) Club Coach Sport Specific online training course
- Provide proof of the successful completion of the e-Learning Australian Sports Commission Community Coaching Essential skills modules (Via the MALC).
- Provide proof of the successful completion of the e-Learning Sport Integrity Australia Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction (via the MALC).
- Provide proof of the successful completion of the e-Learning Sport Integrity Australia Coaches course.
- Provide proof of the successful completion of the e-Learning Sport Integrity Australia National Integrity Framework Course.
- Provide proof of the successful completion of the e-Learning Sport Integrity Australia Anti-Doping Fundamentals course.
- Provide proof of the successful completion of the e-Learning Sport Integrity Australia Annual Update course (completed yearly).

Practical Training requisites:
- Attend a Motorcycling Queensland Level 1 Coaching Course ($150) and successfully complete all assessment components.
- Provide Proof of 20 hours practical motorcycle coaching experience (Level 1)
Documentation requisites:
- Must hold a current “Provide First Aid/CPR” Certificate.
- Must hold current WWCC card and comply with WWCC legislation (QLD Blue Card)
- Must agree to and be prepared to comply with and implement the minimum standards of the MA Coaches Code of Behaviour
- Complete all sections of the Club Coach / Level 1 Motorcycle Sport Coaching Accreditation renewal application form and submit copies of all completed pages to Motorcycling Queensland.
Licencing
Applications for a coaching licence must be completed on the Motorcycling Queensland Club / Level 1 Motorcycle Sport Coaching Accreditation form.
Level 2 coaches licence applications and renewals should be made directly to Motorcycling Australia.
CODE OF BEHAVIOUR FOR COACHES
12.1 Coaches are expected to adhere to the following MA/Australian Sports Commission (ASC) code of behaviour for coaches.
12.2 Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every human being.
• Within the context of the activity, treat everyone equally regardless of sex, disability, ethnic origin, or religion.
12.3 Ensure the athlete’s time spent with you is a positive experience.
• All athletes are deserving of equal attention and opportunities.
12.4 Treat each athlete as an individual.
• Respect the talent, developmental stage and goals of each individual athlete and help each athlete reach their full potential.
12.5 Be fair, considerate, and honest with athletes.
12.6 Be professional and accept responsibility for your actions.
• Language, manners, punctuality, preparation, and presentation should display high standards.
• Display control, respect, dignity, and professionalism to all involved with the sport – this includes opponents, coaches, officials, administrators, the media, parents, and spectators.
• Encourage your athletes to demonstrate the same qualities.
12.7 Make a commitment to providing a quality service to your athletes.
• Maintain or improve your current Coaching accreditation.
• Seek continual improvements through performance appraisal and ongoing coach education.
• Provide a training program which is planned and sequential.
• Maintain appropriate records.
• Only deliver coaching that falls within the scope and competencies of your proven experience, skills,
and knowledge.
12.8 Operate within the rules and spirit of your sport.
• The guidelines of national and international bodies governing your sport should be followed. Please refer to the MA website for a copy of the MoMS, regulations, constitution, by-laws, and relevant policies e.g. Anti-Doping Policy, Child Welfare Code of Conduct etc.
12.9 Any physical contact with athletes should be:
• Appropriate to the situation and necessary for the athlete’s skill development.
12.10 Refrain from any form of personal abuse towards your athlete.
• This includes verbal, physical, and emotional abuse.
• Be alert to any forms of abuse directed towards your athletes from other sources whilst they are in your care.
12.11 Refrain from any form of harassment towards your athlete.
• This includes sexual and racial harassment, racial vilification, and harassment on the grounds of disability.
• You should not only refrain from initiating a relationship with an athlete but also discourage any attempt by an athlete to initiate a sexual relationship with you, explaining the ethical basis of your refusal.
12.12 Provide an appropriate environment for training and competition.
• Ensure equipment and facilities are suitable for purpose and meet compliance standards.
• Equipment, rules, training, and the environment need to be appropriate for the age and ability of the athletes.
12.13 Show concern and caution towards sick and injured athletes.
• Provide a modified training program where appropriate and allow further participation in training and competition only when appropriate.
• Encourage athletes to seek medical advice when required and maintain the same interest and support towards sick and injured athletes.
12.14 Be a positive role model for your sport and athlete.
Coaches should….
- Be treated with respect and openness and have access to self-improvement opportunities.
- Be matched with a level of coaching appropriate to their level of competence.

Motorcycling Queensland expects that all motorcycle coaches accredited through Motorcycling Queensland adhere to the above Coaches Code of Conduct.
