After the Special General Meeting held on Thursday, Motorcycling Queensland wishes to announce that Russell Bentley is returning as a Director, and we welcome Ben Dillaway and Mike Ewing as new Directors to the MQ Board.
Here is a little bit about them… Candidate Summaries provided by the MA Nominations Panel
Russell Bentley
Russell is a lifelong, passionate and enthusiastic motorcyclist. As a CEO in the corporate world and a business owner, he has more than 25 years of practical experience with what makes a business tick. His current work on the MQ Board has been invaluable, and he feels that he has ‘unfinished business’ in helping to improve the state of motorcycling in Queensland, which is one of the reasons he has stood again for election.
Russell has a strong governance background, understands what a Board is supposed to be doing, and holds a strong view on the direction that MQ should take to continue progressing the sport into the future.
Mike Ewing
Mike has a strong love of motorcycling that runs four generations deep and has previous experience with National and State Judo Sporting Organisations. This background provides invaluable insight into the way national and state sporting organisations interact with local, state, and federal governments—especially in securing grants and assistance.
Professionally, Mike holds a PhD in Marketing and has a strong background in brand management, customer satisfaction, social media, and data analytics. He has extensive Board experience with organisations such as the Academy of Marketing Sciences and Deakin University, and a wealth of experience within the automotive industry.
Ben Dillaway
Ben is another lifelong passionate motorcyclist who started racing as a junior. Since then, he has built a career in Federal politics, acting as a senior advisor to multiple governments. Currently working with BHP in Corporate Affairs, Ben has a strong interest in communications and “getting the message across.”
He has been involved in multiple government strategic, compliance, and governance committees as both member and Chair, and is well-versed in governance processes and procedures. Ben’s media and political experience will assist Motorcycling Queensland to strengthen government connections and promote motorcycling throughout the state.
We should also thank Fletcher Dyson for his nomination.
Fletcher Dyson
Fletcher loves motorcycling and all things motorcycle. A former professional athlete, Fletcher represented Australia in Rugby Union as a Wallaby, and since retiring has forged a successful career in business—first as the Commercial Manager for the Melbourne Rebels and more recently in the medical industry, providing implant devices for surgeons.
He brings with him extensive knowledge in team culture, communications, compliance, risk management, governance, and strategic planning, and is keen to use this expertise to further improve motorcycling in Queensland.
