August 5th 6th saw Woodstock Townsville host Round 1 of the Yamaha Queensland Motocross Championships.

With riders from all over Queensland and Northern NSW, racing was the best seen in years with 80% of the races coming down to the final race to determine  the days overall and series contenders.

Yamahas Richie (SCRUBA) Evans started the action with a whip over the finish line tabletop in practice that saw the Series QMX1 AND QMX2 Title contender in hospital resulting in a broken hand and ankle.

Leaving the door wide open in QMX1 AND QMX2 young gun Kaleb Barham stamped his presence with an awesome display of racing throughout the 6 motos contested, however it was Yamaha's Luke Weaver who had the final say taking the classes overall.

In the Junior classes racing was just as fierce with all the young superstars on fire.

From 50cc to Junior 250 racing was all for sheep stations, with some of our Airoh Sunshine state Champions showing they still have what it takes.

Podium winners taking the cream of the points set for the show down at Tivoli, 26th 27th August.
