Important information
Motorcycling
Queensland runs Officials Training Seminars throughout the
state to train volunteer officials to the required national
standard.
Attendance
at all Motorcycling Queensland Officials Training Seminars
is FREE of charge. Motorcycling Queensland provides all necessary
course resources, as well as catering for all meal breaks.
There
is no requirement to be a member of a Club or hold an Official
Licence prior to attending Officials Training Seminars.

Types
of Seminars
Motorcycling
Queensland offers the following Officials Training Seminars:
Generic
Seminar
Clerk of Course / Steward
Seminar
Scrutineering Seminar
Race Secretary Seminar
Refresher (Advanced) Officials Seminar
Non-Competition Officials Seminar
Generic
Seminar
Covers important general information for all types of officials
including the role of all officials at a meeting, risk management
and communication skills and is a pre-requisate to completing
any of the other specialised courses.
There
is a 40 question multiple choice open book examination at
the conclusion of the course. The minimum pass-mark is 30/40
(75%). Attendance at the Generic Seminar remains current for
a period of 4 years.

Clerk of Course / Steward
Seminar
Covers the specific roles and responsibilities
for the positions
of the Clerk of Course and the Steward of the meeting. Includes
‘how to’ complete relevant paperwork, protests,
appeals and penalties, risk management, the race meeting,
and includes group activities and scenarios.
There
is a 40 question multiple choice open book examination at
the conclusion of the course. The minimum pass-mark is 30/40
(75%). Attendance at the Clerk of Course / Steward Seminar
remains current for a period of 4 years.

Scrutineering Seminar

Covers the specific roles and responsibilities for the positions
of the Scrutineer at the race meeting. Includes topics such
as the race meeting, noise testing, machine examination, as
well as case studies and group scenarios.
There
is a 40 question multiple choice open book examination at
the conclusion of the course. The minimum pass-mark is 30/40
(75%). Attendance at the Scrutineer Seminar remains current
for 4 years.
*Attendees
at the Scrutineering Seminar are shown correct noise
testing techniques.

Race Secretary Seminar
Covers the specific roles and responsibilities for the positions
of the Race Secretary of the meeting. Covers such topics as:
responsibilities prior to, during and after the race meeting,
including preparing Supplementary Regulations and event Programs,
etc. Includes case studies and group scenarios.
There
is a 40 question multiple choice open book examination at
the conclusion of the course. The minimum pass-mark is 30/40
(75%). Attendance at the Race Secretary Seminar remains current
for a period of 4 years.

Refresher Officials
Seminar
The Refresher Seminar, previously knwon
as the Advanced Officials Seminar, is available to current
Level 2, 3 & 4 MQ Officials only. It has been introduced
as a ‘one-stop shop’ to assist those Officials
who hold multiple high level licence accreditations who would
otherwise be required to attend a number of Officials Training
Seminars to maintain their current levels.
The
Course is structured in such a way so as to cover a number
of key areas common to all Officials including: legal responsibilities,
risk management, communications, rule enforcements, protests
& penalties.
There are examinations on the day dealing with your areas
of specialty eg Clerk of Course, Race Secretary, Scruitneer,
etc. This course is predominantly scenario based.

Non-Competition
Officials Seminar
(Practice Supervisor / Trail Ride Boss &/or Secretary)
Is a combined course covering the key elements involved in
becoming a Practice Supervisor and / or a Trail Ride Boss
or Secretary. Attendance at the Generic Seminar is not a prerequisite
to attending this Seminar.
It
covers key information such as: risk management and assessment,
as well as covering the specifics of each role eg Guidelines
for conducting practice and MQ Trail Ride Guidelines.
There
is an examination in each of the areas at the end of the day
to determine competency. Attendance at this Seminar remains
current for a period of 4 years.
