Women's Team to compete at 2008 Trials des Nations

Motorcycling Australia has announced that a Women’s Team will be sent to represent Australia at the 2008 Trial Des Nations in La Rabass, Andorra.

The Des Nations takes place on 28 September, and this will be the first time that an Australian Women’s Team will be officially recognised as part of the event.

Trevor Bennett from the MA Moto Trials Commission admitted that the decision to send an Australian Team for the event was an important step forward for women Moto Trial riders in this country, and is confident that the team which is sent will be successful.

“To get an acknowledgement from MA, and for us to get over there in an official capacity is certainly ground-breaking,” he said.

“The girls have been putting in tremendous efforts this year – more than perhaps in previous years because there was the chance that they’d be going.

“I am very confident that the team will be a lot more competitive than other people are giving us credit for.”

Applications to be one of the three riders on the Australian Team are now open– as to are applications to go to Andorra as the Women’s Team Manager.

Moto-Trials Come 'n' Try Day

Moto-Trials
It’s on again…

The Logan River Moto-Trials Club is giving interested persons the opportunity to come and have a go on a Moto-Trials bikes, you know, the ones without a seat.

Moto-Trials is the one motorcycle discipline where speed isn’t the determining factor – rather it’s the skill, balance and determination of the rider that wins the day.

The Come 'n' Try Day is being run in conjunction with an actual Moto-Trials event, which will be happening on the same property, so while your waiting or after you've had a ride, you can check some of the expert riders actually taking part in a competition event.

‘It’s a fantastic opportunity for those have always been interested, to actually come and have a go on a Moto-Trials bike in a fun and safe environment” said Logan River Moto-Trials Club Secretary Robyn Curtis.

Details of the Day are as follows:

Where: Upper Coomera Road, Ferny Glen (near Canungra)

Contact: Robyn Curtis - p: (07) 5543-6220, mb: 0411 091 924 or robynlcurtis@hotmail.com
