How
to get a licence
Once
you know the discipline you want to participate in, there
are a number of steps that need
to be followed in order to obtain a licence.
They
are as follows:
Step
1: Download or obtain a licence application form
for the type
of licence you wish to apply for – see Types
of licences.

Step
2: Join an affiliated Club.
A full list of Motorcycling
Queensland
Clubs including their contact details is available from the
Contact
A Club / Track section of this website. Some clubs
cater for a number of different riding disciplines,
whereas some specialise in one discipline. It certainly pays
to contact the clubs that interest you and find out about
them before you join.

Step
3: If you do not already have a recognised road
bike licence,
you will need to complete a Competency Test / Assessment.
New senior riders and Nipper
licence applicants complete the Rider
Competency Assessment.
All new junior competition
licence holders, including juniors
upgrading from a Nipper or Recreational licence to a Junior
Club or National must first successfully comply with the
Kick
Start – Junior Coaching Program.

Step
4: Return all of the relevant information including:
Licence
Application Form (remember to sign in all of the necessary
places on the form, and if you are under the age of 18, ensure
that the form has been signed by a parent or guardian), the
relevant fee, a photo, proof of age (photocopy of birth certificate),
proof of club membership, and for first
time applicants your competency test/s to Motorcycling Queensland.
Please
allow up to 2 weeks for your licence to be processed and returned
to you.
