Insurance Cover

As a licenced rider you are covered by a comprehensive insurance policy against permanent disablement or death. Further details on this policy is available at Motorcycling Australia.

If you are a resident of Queensland you have free access to the Queensland Ambulance Service. It is advised however that you obtain additional insurance cover for injuries which may cause time off work.

Access to safe, quality tracks and venues

Motorcycling Queensland enforces track guidelines and standards for clubs wishing to licence permanently standing tracks i.e. Motocross, Dirt Track, Road Racing. Motorcycling Queensland also conducts regular track inspections. This ensures that you are riding on quality tracks and venues which are safe for all levels of riders.

Access to quality and controlled events

Motorcycling Queensland conducts state-wide Officials Training Seminars for all officials to ensure that the highest possible standard of safety and a fair set of rules are in place at all Motorcycling Queensland events. Follow this link for more information on becoming an official.

The Manual of Motorcycle Sport

Each year Motorcycling Australia produces The Manual of Motorcycle Sport which contains the General Competition Rules.

These rules are designed to ensure fair and safe competition for all involved.

Motorcycling Queensland conducts regular council meetings where all clubs have the right to be represented, and Subcommittees for each discipline exist so that you can have a say in these rules and the direction of your sport.

Subcommittee representation for each discipline

Subcommittees are responsible for the overall direction of their particular discipline.

Ballot papers are circulated to all Motorcycling Queensland affiliated clubs with a list of nominated candidates for each Subcommittee. Successful candidates are then announced at the Annual General Meeting.

Variety of riding and racing disciplines

Whether it be Motocross or Supercross, Speedway or Road Racing, Dirt Track or Moto-Trials, there is sure to be a type of motorcycle competition that suits your interests. More information on the different types of racing is available from our types of racing section.

Non-competition events - road and trail rides

If competitive racing is not your scene then you may be interested in one or more of the many recreational road rides or trail rides that are sanctioned through Motorcycling Queensland each year.

Special types of licences (Annual Recreational and Single Use Recreational) have been introduced to ensure that costs for you to participate in these types of events are kept to a minimum.

Events Calendar

Motorcycling Queensland produces an annual events calendar.

The events calendar includes information on Open and Zone events, Australian Titles, Officials Seminars and Level 1 Coaching Courses, Trail Ride Schedule, and other motorcycling events that may be of interest to licence holders.

Officials Review Board

Motorcycling Queensland appoints the Officials Review Board (ORB).

The purpose of the ORB is to ensure that Motorcycling Queensland officials maintain a high level of skills and that suitable training is offered to all officials through Officials Training Seminars. The ORB also ensures that the content of the Officials Training Seminars is current.

Coaching Committee

The Motorcycling Queensland Executive appoints the Coaching Committee.

The purpose of the Coaching Committee is to provide strategic advice to the Motorcycling Queensland Executive in areas such as:

- expanding the current pool of available coaches;
- scheduling and facilitating Level 1 Coaching Courses;
- conducting Elite Rider Training Camps;
- developing and maintaining the Motorcycling Queensland Coaching Guidelines;
- recommending candidates for Level 2 coaching accreditation.

Elite Rider Camps

Each year the Motorcycling Queensland Coaching Committee is responsible for conducting a number Elite Rider Training Camps.

Motorcycling Queensland currently conducts two camps - the u21s Elite Training Camp, and the u21s Refresher Camp. Both are staged at the internationally recognised Runaway Bay Sports Super Centre (Gold Coast) in December each year.
