GET A LICENCE
Once you know the discipline you want to participate in, there are a number of steps that need to be followed in order to obtain a licence which are as follows:![]()
Step 1:
Download or obtain a licence application form for the type of licence you want. ![]()
Step 2:
Join an affiliated Club. Mini and Recreational licence applicants do not need to join a club to apply.
Club contact details are available through this website. Some clubs cater for a number of different riding disciplines whilst other clubs specialise in one discipline. Make sure you contact a club and find out about what they have to offer.![]()
Step 3:
If you do not already have a road bike licence you will need to complete a Competency Test and Assessment.
New senior riders and Mini licence applicants complete the Rider Competency Assessment.
All new junior competition licence holders, including juniors upgrading from a Mini licence to a Junior Club or National must first successfully comply with the Kick Start – Junior Coaching Program.![]()
Step 4:
Return all of the relevant information including:
Licence Application Form;
(remember to sign in all of the necessary places on the form, and if you are under the age of 18, ensure that the form has been signed by a parent or guardian)
The relevant fee;
A photo;
Proof of age (photocopy of birth certificate);
Proof of club membership; and
For first time applicants your competency tests to Motorcycling Queensland.
Please allow up to 2 weeks for your licence to be processed and returned to you.
