Easter's Mildura Open Arenacross
April 29, 2011

The annual Easter Mildura Arenacross has been run and won for another year with Justin Carafa taking out the Pro Open class.

THE ANNUAL Easter Mildura Open Arenacross has been run and won for another year, with some fantastic racing across all classes and around 70 competitors taking part in the event.

Held each year as a part of a large motorsports weekend in Mildura, which also includes the likes of classic cars and speed boats, the Arenacross attracts a variety of riders with its casual vibe in the pits, and plenty of intense racing on the track.

Making his yearly competitive appearance once again was FMX star Cameron Sinclair. Sinclair loves the Mildura event, and it is the only race he competes in all year.

“Being able to come to Mildura at Easter to race is awesome. I enjoy riding the track and the atmosphere, plus I can watch a few of my mates in the ski race over the weekend too. It is a great weekend, and I will be back again next year,” said Cam.

In the Pro Open class the impressive crowd witnessed some fantastic racing between National Championship regulars Justin Carafa and Mark Grove. The pair traded paint throughout the night with Carafa taking the honours, while Mark settled for second place. In the Pro Lites class, it was Mark Grove all the way winning every race of the evening.

A standout race of the night was race 2 in the 65cc class, with Toby Marshall and Taylor Adams battling until the very last turn. Taylor won the race by jumping the final section cleanly, while Toby won the night with 4 race wins from 6 starts. The spectators were definitely impressed with the display these young riders put on.

There was plenty of action in all classes, so for a list of the place-getters please click here.
