Motorcycling Australia and its 7 State Controlling Bodies (SCBs) have undertaken a comprehensive Whole of Sport Review (WOSR) for the purpose of reviewing MA’s long term strategic, business and participation models in order to guarantee motorcycling has a strong and bright future.
With this in mind, a Whole of Sport review panel was formed and the review completed. An agenda for reform has created the opportunity for a new skills based Board. A Nominations Committee has been established and tasked with the responsibility of managing the process on behalf of the current Board.
The successful candidates will be appointed to lead the culture and purpose of Motorcycling within Australia and will need to dedicate time to commit to the job, particularly initially in driving the new direction of the organisation.
Candidates will need to demonstrate an understanding of corporate governance, as well as either a background in finance, legal, risk, marketing, sponsorship, strategic planning and/or event management. Commercial acumen will also be highly regarded.
The new Board of Motorcycling Australia will be comprised of 7 Board members. Four will be elected by the MA Council, two will be appointed by the four elected Board members, as will one industry representative. The Motorcycling Australia AGM will be held on 29 July 2015 in Melbourne. Board meetings are monthly and are based in the MA South Melbourne head office.
These are unpaid, but expensed positions.
Applicants will be required to provide a cover letter, an up to date CV, as well completing the Board nomination form. For a copy of the Board Nomination form, please contact Motorcycling Australia CEO Dale Gilson at email@example.com.
