A group of 123 junior riders from as far afield as Theodore, Roma and north to Bowen all converged on the Central Queensland Junior Development clinic held at Benaraby raceway in Gladstone over the weekend.

The event began on Friday with a coaching clinic for 10 budding coaches, who then assisted and were mentored by the more experienced coaches - headed by Level 2 Motorcycling Queensland coach Rod Jenner - to get them most of the way to accruing their required hours.

Donations from the Gladstone community assisted in feeding everyone throughout the two days.

The clinic saw the Capricorn Dirt Riders, Curtis Coast Trail Riders, Biloela Dirt Riders and Gladstone and District Dirt Riders clubs combine forces for the future of the sport - riders from 5-16 years of age.

Over 40 kickstart course books were completed, and countless while Juniors who had never held an MQ annual licence were offered a free, 3-month recreational licence.

Motorcycling Queensland Regional Consultant Debbie Douglas would like to thank everyone who has come on board to make this event happen; Clubs, Local Businesses, Coaches, Countless assistants and Demo riders, Motorcycling Queensland and of course the riders themselves.
