Toby 7th, Rod 20th after Day 5 at Dakar

Gold Coast rider Toby Price and Longreach native Rod Faggotter were 7th and 20th respectively as Dakar's Day 5 unfolded between San Juan de Marcona and Arequipa in Peru.

The 774 kilometre, fifth stage of the world's toughest dirt bike race saw Joan Barreda Bort finish on top, ahead of Matthias Walkner and Keven Benavides.

As the event approaches its mid point, 2016 Dakar Champion Price lies sixth in the overall standings, while Faggotter holds 17th.
