A very successful weekend was held for the annual 2 day trail ride by the Gympie Motor Cycle Club at Dray’s Property at Woolooga on the 22nd and 23rd of July. The club signed up 411 riders during the two day event. The weather was perfect for riding on the sometimes challenging terrain and open country loops. There was a novice track for the less experienced riders and even a peewee track for the little guys. The event was catered for all weekend by Alia Khan and her army of helpers, providing delicious food for the masses. There were your usual injuries that happen at these events but were handled professionally by the Gympie Volunteer First Aiders. Profits from the weekend will be donated to Life Flight and Gympie Volunteer First Aid.
The club was also running a multi-draw raffle to raise funds for former club member Scott Hoare, (read the article here) who had a surfing accident in December last year. He is now a quadriplegic and is being treated in the spinal unit in Sydney. The raffle was drawn at the trail ride and the major prize of $500 cash and a gear bag was won by Bill from Biloela.
