The Pan Pacific Masters Games run and won over two days! Another very successful event run by Brisbane Motorcycle Club, for which they are becoming renowned.
Generous landholders across five farms at Pimpama allowed this event to be held this year. A gallant team of supporters from the Toowoomba Motorcycle Club took control this year and marked out the track in such a way that we didn’t get as lost as in previous years!
The track consisted of many different obstacles including fallen trees, narrow pathways, fire trails and even Motocross track. And as if that wasn’t enough, the weather played a huge part in the event. High temperatures and high humidity caused dehydration to be the biggest challenge of the two days. The rain added to the challenge by increasing humidity and adding a ‘mud factor’ to the event.
Over 120 competitors including international riders, teams of female riders and two old farts in their seventies had the time of their lives, walking away with Gold, Silver and/or Bronze medals and if not, a smile from ear to ear saying ‘next time!’.
Thanks to Action Motorcycles at Nerang for the use of their Polaris Ranger, and thanks to the young sweeps who kept checking the track for anything that would hinder a safe ride.
Finally, it was amazing to see the camaraderie between the riders where helping a mate out was more important than winning and that’s what makes this such a great event.
