Round 5 of the Southern Downs Road Race Series will take place on the 12th and 13th of November at Morgan Park Raceway in Warwick, this will be the final round for 2016. A massive Superbike grid of 25 riders and machines will line up to decide who will be Queensland Champion!
Current leader Andy Fisher aboard his BMW S1000RR has a slim 8 point lead over Honda mounted Ryan Yanko, and there are plenty of challengers not far behind! The other Queensland Title up for grabs is in the Supersport, Australian Champion Troy Guenther will be looking continue his form and take the title with a perfect score.
For the first time at Morgan Park Raceway competitors will get a chance to experience a team endurance race. As the final events of the weekend, team members will ride for 30 minutes each, after starting LeMans style!
Round 5 also features the annual Sidecar come and try experience, run after racing on Saturday afternoon. The come and try enables budding sidecar racers the opportunity to have a go at “swinging” on a sidecar. Anyone with leathers, boots and a helmet can take part in the experience. With some of Australia's best drivers and passengers on hand to teach the ropes.

The Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland First Time Free initiative enables riders to take the first steps to becoming racers without breaking the bank. This round sees the club racer class well subscribed, and plenty of new riders taking advantage of their first race for free.
Spectator entry is free, so jump in the car or hop on a bike and drop out to Morgan Park Raceway. You are welcome to walk around the pits and meet the guys and girls that have a passion for racing! There is a canteen on site with great value food. Qualifying kicks off at 9am on Saturday morning, while racing commences after lunch, ending around 4pm. Racing all day Sunday from 8:30am till 4pm.
