The KTM SEQ Junior MX Series is growing year by year, with rider numbers increasing from the 2015 series.

Riders again enjoyed the graded races and the fun, family atmosphere of the series. John Gierke was once again Clerk of the series, and did a fantastic job engaging with the young riders, making it fun while enforcing the rules.  This year a couple of changes were welcomed by the riders – a fun feature, Le Mans style race at the end of each days racing, whilst the Junior Lites class had the opportunity to ride 2 stroke and 4 stroke, and the Veterans and Women’s class increased in entries after moving to Saturday’s schedule.

A survey provided riders with the opportunity for their feedback and to vote for a rider’s rider in each class. We witnessed some great acts of sportsmanship and riders were rewarded at the end of each days riding.

Heading into the final round at Kilcoy there were some tight scores and all places were not decided until the final race. All results can be viewed on the MyLaps website here - and congratulations to all riders that competed. The huge KTM trophy was taken home by Ryan Alexanderson, scoring a perfect score for the series aboard his KTM in the 65cc 10-11years A grade class.

First place honours went to the following riders:

Thank you to all the riders, their families for being part of the series. Without the sponsors these events could not be run, so a huge thank you to: KTM, Motorex, Drilltek and Ride Tribe, Vince McNamara Engineering, Darmac Constructions,  Ausmaster Constructions, MX Service Parts, Totally Automotive, 2T Tuning, CJW Constructions, Rockwell, O’Loans Concreting, Stagg Automotive, Mayfab, Hiflow Coatings, RW Carpentry, MPE, LKI and Bridgestone.

A big thank you to the SEQJMX team for organising the event – John Gierke, John Armstrong, Mel Crittenden, Alisha Bell and Anne Polsoni. We are already planning the event for 2017 with four rounds again with a rained out day added to  the calendar for those unfortunate weather conditions. KTM and Motorex have confirmed their continued support as series sponsors.

And finally, thank you to Moreton & District Motocross Club, Toowoomba Motocross Club, Chinchilla Motocross Club and Kilcoy Motorcycle Club for hosting the rounds and supplying great tracks and facilities.
