The KTM SEQ Junior Motocross is revved and ready for another awesome series in 2016!
Queensland’s biggest junior series will again be backed by KTM and Motorex, and kicks off on August 6 – 7 at Tivoli Raceway.
Rounds for 2016 are as follows:
Round 1 - 6/7 August, Moreton Districts MX Club
Round 2 - 17/18 September, Toowoomba MX Club
Round 3 - 8/9 October, Chinchilla MX Club
Round 4 - 22/23 October, Kilcoy Motorcycle Club
Entries for Round 1 are open via Nominate, and will close next Wednesday (July 27). Already, riders from as far as New South Wales have nominated for the big event, which is open to both Junior and Senior Riders.
In fact, the series relies on the support of Seniors to keep the show on the road. Round 1 is a great chance to get in some last minute practice ahead of the Queensland MX Championships, which kick off the following weekend.
Classes for 2016:
This year, classes will range from 50cc demonstrations right through to Mini Lites 9 – 11 years and Veterans on Saturday. Sunday schedule include the Mini Lites 12 – 15 years, Junior Lites 2/, Junior Lites 4/, Clubman Unlimited and Pro / Intermediate Senior Unlimited classes.
65cc through to Junior Lites will compete in graded races. Depending on entry numbers, C grade riders will have their own race, and A and B riders will also have their own race to improve their skills and will make for close, exciting racing.
Prize money will be awarded at each round for the first three places in each grade and class. Series trophies will also be awarded to riders who compete in all rounds for 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each class and grade.
The big KTM Cup will be awarded again this year for the junior rider on a KTM machine with the highest points total for the series.
