Round 3 of the Pirelli Southern Downs Road Race Series will take place on the June 18 - 19 at Morgan Park Raceway in Warwick.

Special guests the GP Juniors will be be on track as part of their National Championship. Tomorrow
s racing stars will be on track competing for national supremacy, and althought the riders may be pint sized, their skill and tenacity will have them pushing to their limits.

On the other end of the scale from the GP Juniors we have the Superbikes! The race for the Queensland Championships begins here for the Superbike (Formula 1) and Supersport (Formula 2) classes. With plenty of potential race winners in each class, its difficult to pick who will lead the title chase after this round.

For the corner speed carrying smaller capacity 250/300 Production and Moto3 machines its time for them to wrap up their Queensland Championships. With Simon Dickson in the 250/300 Production class and Brian Houghton on his Moto3, both taking a perfect 100 points from Round 1 they will be looking to keep their leads and wrap up their respective titles, however it wont be easy, with both having to deal with a wave of hungry competitors behind them.

Round 3 marks the midpoint in the season for Southern Downs Series, and while some of the classes possess a dominant force, half of them are a being lead by less than the difference between 1st and 2nd in a single race! With 12 races left over the course of the series, the 4 races at Round 3 can make or break a riders championship hopes.

The cooler temperatures expected at Round 3 will test the rider's ability to judge the available grip-  the cool air brings with it extra horsepower, so if the track is grippy riders have the opportunity to better their personal best times, and maybe challenge the lap record!

The Motorcycle Sportsmen of Queensland First Time Free initiative enables riders to take the first steps to becoming racers without breaking the bank. Being run at all five rounds of the Pirelli Southern Downs Road Race Series, a number of new racers have taken their first steps into the sport, and we hope to help many more dip their toes to see if its the sport for them. If you think you have what it takes, come out and talk to the officials and riders, and you could be signing up to race at Round  4!

Spectator entry is free, so jump in the car or hop on a bike and drop out to Morgan Park Raceway. You are welcome to walk around the pits and meet the guys and girls that have a passion for racing! There is a canteen on site with great value food.
