Queenslander Jedd List has been selected to ride for Australia at the 250cc World Speedway Titles in Poland and Germany in two months’ time.
Last year, the young Scenic Rim Speedway star picked up an Australian long track title and won the Queensland titles in the 125cc and 250cc solo championships. Already in 2016, Jedd has snatched an Australian long track title and made the finals at this year’s Australian 250cc solo titles in Adelaide in January.
During the heats Jedd was outstanding. Up against Australia’s best, Jedd score three wins and two second places. He also achieved the fastest time of the championship event.
Unfortunately, Jedd had a bit of bad luck on the line in the final, getting tangled up with another rider but still managed third place. An outstanding display throughout the year and on the night was enough for Jedd to be selected by Motorcycling Australia to compete at the world 250cc Speedway titles and represent Australia in Poland and Germany in July.
The local Boonah boy and his mother and father, Clint and Wendy List, will be flying out to Germany in eight weeks, and are currently undertaking the huge task of organising everything. The family have started fundraising for the event and the support has been fantastic.
People have gone out of their way to help Jedd in any way they can, and the support from the local community, surrounding area and other businesses is nothing short of amazing. People have offered to sponsor Jedd at his grassroots level, and want to continue to be a part of Jedd’s success throughout his career, on his way to becoming a world champion.
The List family say there is a long road to go, and they are still looking for more potential sponsors to get on board and help fund the huge costs involved.
