Saturday (April 23) saw the Road Racing Association of Townsville (RRAT) held its first racing event for the year.
All grids were impressive, especially the Road Race (RR) and Supersingle class, where road bikes and motards come together to battle it out. Unfortunately for RR bikes on the day, the motards took nearly all of the top 8 grid positions, but
The motard riders came from north, south and west, all getting in that last bit of practice before we all head to Mareeba for the first round of the Interclub next week.
It was great to see three brand new juniors on the track – these guys are the future of our racing.
This year the RRAT have mixed things up a bit, starting earlier, changing racing laps and adding in a new champion’s race which is by invitation only and is a handicapped race, the winner being revealed at the end of the season, all going to plan.
Go the RRAT.
