The RRAT held its first 2016 event on Saturday (19th March), a combined Come and Try (C&T) / Practice day for new participants as well as existing club members.
The weather gods were kind with the rain clouds clearing to a beautiful sunny day. We had 15 eager C&T participants come to the track to have a go at Supermoto and Road Racing. From those members, we had two juniors sign up on the day for our Junior Corporate Challenge Programme where the club supplies the bike for the year, and two more keen juniors joining the ranks of the junior Supermoto.
We also gained another four RRAT seniors to the club from this C&T Day, with another 30 existing RRAT members turning up for the practice.
The C&T day was very well organized with participants being given allotted time slots so each rider was prepped and ready to ride in good time. It all ran to plan.
When the Come & Try finished, some of the seniors couldn't get enough, buying Rec Licences and joining the club then and there to continue on in the practice sessions.
The club put on a free BBQ for all new and existing members in the break, giving everybody a chance to cool down and catch up. The day went smoothly and everyone had plenty of track time. Smiles all round. The overall consensus was that the day was a complete success for the riders as well as the club.
Everyone is now looking forward to our first Closed to Club event on Saturday, 23rd April at Suncity Raceway.
