A big part of MotoFest was the Boonah Street Festival, held in town the night before racing (Saturday 26th September). Bikes were scrutineered in Boonah’s main street, amongst Freestyle and Trials Demos, stalls and trade displays.

Brisbane Motorcycle Club was part of the action, setting up a display at the Street Festival.

Sixteen bikes were on display ranging from 1964 CZ through to a Suzuki RM500, and including such exotica as Greeves (UK), OSSA (Spain), Maico (Germany), Husqvarna (Sweden) and an array of Japanese trail bike based “specials”. Purpose built MX bikes from Japan included Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki and ranged in capacity from 125cc to 500cc.

The display generated much interest, and there was lots of “when I was ride’n”, “my uncle had one of those”, “I saw Roger DeCoster” amd “you don’t really ride at your age?”…
