Queensland’s Mike Jones will be looking to further extend his lead in the Australian Superbike Championship lead at this weekend’s fourth round of the series at Symmons Plains.
Mike will enter this weekend with some advantages in his corner. He has competed on the tight yet fast Symmons Plains layout, despite the fact he hasn’t done so on his Australian Outdoor Living – Cube Racing Team Kawasaki ZX10 Superbikes, he is looking forward to the challenge that will present itself.
“I’m looking forward to racing at Symmons Plains in Tasmania this weekend with the Australian Outdoor Living – Cube Racing Team. It’s a circuit that I’ve ridden a couple of times before and I like the layout. Although, it’s going to be an exciting challenge as I’ve never ridden the Superbike around there,” Jones said.
In order to gain his continued success in the Superbike category, Mike admits that regular technical developments are needed in between events to ensure that he, as a privateer, can be on top of his game each and every time they hit the track and the break between events this time around has been no different.
“As always, I’m constantly working with XXX Rated Race Suspension to get the most from the handling of the bike and we’re making progress with a new K-Tech rear shock that I like a lot. We have made many developments throughout the season so far and it’s fantastic to be continually improving our results every time we hit the track,” Jones concluded.
Mike will be on track for three practice sessions on Friday, two qualifying sessions and a top ten Superpole on Saturday and two 17 lap races on Sunday.
