Get in the Game funding available

The Queensland Government has announced the release of the next round of Get in the Game Funding programs, which include; Get Started Vouchers, Get Going Clubs, Get Playing Places and Spaces and Get Playing Plus.

GET STARTED VOUCHERS
Assists children and young people who can least afford, or may otherwise benefit, to join a sport or recreation club by providing vouchers of up to $150 to help pay for membership or participation fees. Vouchers are released twice yearly and allocated until exhausted. Click here for more information.

GET GOING CLUBS
Provides funding of up to $7,500 GST exclusive for items and activities to assist clubs in attracting members.  
Note: funding is now available once every two years – Organisations approved funding in Round 3 for projects delivered in 2015 are ineligible under Round 4.

GET PLAYING PLACES AND SPACES

Provides funding of up to $100 000 GST exclusive to sport and recreation organisations for new or upgraded facility developments.  
Click here for more information. The Guidelines for Get Going Clubs and Get Playing Places and Spaces will be available on the website upon the opening of the Programs on 3 August 2015, with applications submitted on-line.

GET PLAYING PLUS
Provides funding of between $300 000 to $1 500 000 GST exclusive to assist in developing places and spaces that increase participation opportunities, meet service gaps and address regional needs. The Guidelines will be available on the website upon the opening of the Programs on 1 September 2015.

Also, for your information the YOUNG ATHLETES TRAVEL SUBSIDY opened on 1 July (replaced YAAP). Eligible athletes and officials can apply for assistance from $200 - $600 to support attendance at specific events held at a state, national and international level. Click here for more information.

The Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing (North Coast Region) will be holding funding information sessions in the coming weeks to discuss the new round of Programs.
