The first round of the Far North Queensland Interclub Development Series kicked off at Ravenshoe Motorcycle Club on Saturday July 11.

Nationally-renowned Motocross coach Glenn MacDonald made the trip to Ravenshoe to coach riders on the Saturday, and provide mentoring during racing on Sunday.

The club had 91 riders (including 11 demo riders) on the start line.

Ravenshoe Motorcycle Club President Danielle Melhuish says riders really developed over the two days.

“The improvement and the confident in the kids after the coaching was incredible,” she says.

Coach Glenn Macdonald says the trip to Ravenshoe was rewarding as a coach.

“I saw plenty of improvements and I was quietly chuffed,” he says.

Glenn will return to the Far North, for the second round of the FNQ Interclub Development Series in Cairns on July 25. Supp regs available for download here.

Meanwhile, Ravenshoe Motorcycle Club are gearing up for the first round of the JR Motorcycles Natural Terrain Series on August 30 at Millaa Millaa. Head to the Ravenshoe Facebook group for more information
