The next round of the Pirelli Southern Downs Series will take place on August 1 – 2 at Morgan Park Raceway.
This will be the fourth round of the five round series and competitors will be looking to perform at their maximum and bring home as many points as possible.
Series leaders could be overtaken at the front, and newer riders could take the next step in their riding and lay down a challenge to the riders ahead. The Supermoto class sees only 10 points separate first and second place riders Adam Griffin and Nicholas Shields, round 3 saw Nicholas claim round honours to close the gap, he will be looking to close up more, or better yet, take the series lead.
Round Four will also host the second and final Queensland Championship round for the Formula 3 and Sidecar classes. Can the series leaders keep in front of their rivals and lay claim to the title of Queensland’s best, or will the chasers take the glory?
To add to the action we will be running a parade lap on the Sunday lunch time, this gives spectators the opportunity to ride their bike around the circuit so they see first hand what the track is like to ride on. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to be a part of the action.
Entry forms are out so if you are a racer get your entry for in now! We are continuing our first time racer deal, to enable riders who have never raced before to take advantage of a fantastic deal giving them three days on track for between $214 and $294 depending on licensing requirements. The Club Racer class is a fantastic way to start racing, enabling riders to learn race craft without the pressure of racing for points. We also have a mentor on hand to answer any questions Club Racers have, as well as a special briefing to help prepare newcomers for their first race start. What are you waiting for? Race it! - Simon Dickson, Vice President
